Max

Returns the maximum value of the non-null elements in the given set of numbers.

Syntax

Max(n1 [, n2 ...])

Parameters

 

Parameter	Description
n1	A numeric value or expression.
n2 (optional)	Additional numeric values and/or expressions.

Note:

FormCalc follows the IEEE-754 international standard when handling floating point numeric values. For more information, see “Number literals”.

Examples

The following expressions are examples of using the Max function:

 

Expression	Returns
Max(234, 15, 107)	234
Max(“abc”, 15, “Tony Blue”)	15
Max(“abc”)	0
Max(Field1[*], Field2[0])	Evaluates the non-null occurrences of Field1 as well as the first occurrence of Field2, and returns the highest value.
Max(Min(Field1[*], Field2[0]), Field3, Field4)	The first expression evaluates the non-null occurrences of Field1 as well as the first occurrence of Field2, and returns the lowest value. The final result is the maximum of the returned value compared against the values of Field3 and Field4. See also “Min”.
