About Guide Builder
Guide Builder is the tool within Designer ES that you use to create and edit form guides. After you open or create a form design in Designer ES, the first step in creating a form guide is to start Guide Builder.
To start Guide Builder, open a form design created in Designer ES by using the Create Or Edit Form Guide command in the Tools menu. The form design can be either an XDP file or a PDF file.
When you open Guide Builder, it opens in the expanded view. The expanded view provides you with access to all of the features of Guide Builder, including those for customizing the appearance and behavior of your form guide and previewing the form guide in a web browser.
Tip:
To set Guide Builder to always appear on top of Designer ES or any open application, right-click and select Always On Top. If you do not want Guide Builder to always appear on top of open applications, right-click and select Cancel On Top.

The simplified view occupies a minimal amount of screen space so that you can drag text and field objects from your form design onto a form guide. From this view, you can also modify the structure of your form guide.
