You can bind the text from a form object in Designer ES to a field caption, field help, panel help, or to a guide, section, or panel name. To bind the text, you drag the object from the Form Objects hierarchy in the right pane onto the icon next to the item in the form guide hierarchy in the left pane. You cannot bind text to objects in a form guide by dragging the text from the Layout Editor or Hierarchy palette in Designer ES.Binding text is useful on forms where field captions are created using separate text objects instead of text that is part of the field object in Designer ES. It is also useful when you want to maintain consistency and reuse existing text instead of retyping it.
Note: Binding the text creates a link between the object in the form guide and the text on the form design. Different icons identify whether an item in a form guide is bound to a form object on the form design. The field caption or item name is bound to a form object or imported from the form object in the form design. The panel or field help is bound to a form object. This icon also appears when the field has ToolTip text.

Changes to the objects in the form design or fragment source file can affect your form guide. For example, if you delete an object that is used in your form guide from the form design, depending on which link is broken, one of the following icons appears when the form guide hierarchy is refreshed:
After you release the form object, the link icon or the bound help icon appears next to the object in the form guide hierarchy, indicating that the object is bound to a form object.
