How LiveCycle Workspace ES handles buttons in PDF forms
The LiveCycle Workspace ES Complete button allows users to submit PDF forms.
Note:
If you want the user submission data to include the PDF, instead of only the XDP data, you need to use LiveCycle Reader Extensions ES to provide the appropriate rights to the form.
Here is a summary of how LiveCycle Workspace ES handles buttons in a PDF form.
When a form design does not contain a submit button, LiveCycle Workspace ES disables the Complete button, and users cannot submit the form.
When a form design contains one submit button, LiveCycle Workspace ES hides the submit button and enables the LiveCycle Workspace ES Complete button.
When a form design contains an indirect submit button, that is, a regular button that points to a submit button using script, LiveCycle Workspace ES hides the indirect submit button and enables the LiveCycle Workspace ES Complete button. When a user clicks the Complete button, LiveCycle Workspace ES executes the indirect submit button script, which in turn points to the submit button that performs the form data submission. It is assumed that the form author sets the submit button that performs the form data submission to be hidden.
When a form design has multiple indirect submit buttons pointing to one or more submit buttons, LiveCycle Workspace ES disables the LiveCycle Workspace ES Complete button. The user must click the appropriate button on the form to submit it. The user can still save a draft version of the form or take the form offline.
